How I Diagnose
I think a lot of people are just stuck in their own heads.
You say something simple… maybe your choices, your body, your peace… and suddenly someone’s pressed. They make it a problem. Say something sharp. Unnecessary. Uncalled for. And you’re left wondering, why are you so bothered?
One thing I still don’t understand is when someone tries to define me like they know my whole story… like they know where I’m coming from, what I’ve been through. Especially when it’s a total stranger.
You don’t know me from anywhere. So why are you trying to put meaning to my life?
It’s like you know everything about me…even the parts I haven’t figured out myself.
What a trophy.
It’s crazy.
And honestly, I’ve learned I can’t just switch it off. I’m not wired that way. It lingers.
So instead, I diagnose you.
You said that out of nowhere?
Okay. You’re probably still carrying some abandonment. You’re projecting. You’ve been rejected too many times, and now you try to get ahead by tearing others down.
I build your whole backstory in my head.
And in that moment, you become the broken one not me.
Because there’s no way a whole adult, emotionally balanced and healthy, would see joy, confidence or difference in someone… and choose to respond with bitterness.
You have to be wrestling with something.
So I reduce you in my head. Not to be petty, but to protect myself.
You came at me to make me feel small. But in my mind, I put you so low you can’t reach me.
I don’t need to say it out loud. I don’t need to fight you or prove anything.
I just cancel the impact you thought you had.
And the truth is, your words don’t change anything in my real life.
I’m still loved. Still valued. Still covered by the people who actually know me.
You?
You’re just passing through.
And if you’ve ever been on the receiving end of that kind of energy… people trying to reduce you, label you, or speak over your truth… this is your reminder:
You don’t have to take it on. You don’t have to let it stick.
You are not their assumptions. You are not their projections.
You are allowed to defend your peace… even if it’s just quietly, in your own head.
You are allowed to outgrow the need to explain yourself.
And most importantly, you are still whole, still worthy, and still enough… no matter what they say.
Let them talk. Let them guess.
You keep living, growing, and becoming.
Thank you for sitting with my thoughts today:)
Until next time, stay gentle with yourself and with others.
